Dr. Rui Wang is a 7th generation acupuncturist Rochester NY; her family is renowned for practicing acupuncture for generations and serving the emperor in Forbidden City. When she was a middle school student, Dr. Rui Wang started to learn acupuncture from her grandfather and father. She has more than twenty years of clinical experience and is specialized in treating a variety of difficult diseases.
Dr. Rui Wang is also trained in western medicine. She graduated from Tianjin Medical University in 1989. After she graduated from medical school in 1989, she continued her postgraduate training specialized in the study of Integrated Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine, while she was working at the university medical center. Before she opened her Acupuncture Center in Johnson City in 2000, she was involved in medical research (cancer research) at the University of Minnesota and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Centers, as a postdoctoral research associate. Dr. Rui Wang’s unique experience in both academic medicine and private family inheritance medicine allows her a different style practicing acupuncture.
